Biography

Maria Elorza has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and a master's in Art Creation and Research from the University of the Basque Country. With Maider Fernandez, she made the short films Irudi mintzatuen hiztegi poetikoa (2013, also co-directed by Aitor Gametxo), Agosto sin ti (2015), La chica de la luz (2016), Gure hormek (2016), solo-helmed Ancora lucciole (2018), and Quebrantos (2020), co-directed with Koldo Almandoz. She also participated in the anthology film Kalebegiak (Velodrome, 2016). A los libros y a las mujeres canto (To Books and Women I Sing) is her debut feature film.
