Biography

Josh Soskin grew up in a small surf town in Central California. He began his directing career in the documentary world where he produced and directed hundreds of short docs for Current TV including a half hour special, Modern Day Pirates, that won him national attention. In 2007 he left Current to travel around the world and begin his directing career filming in Spain, France, Indonesia and Dubai. Josh moved to LA in 2008 and has since directed award winning short films, commercials and music videos. His short, Moving Takahashi, has been broadcast on Virgin Air, Indieflix and was recently picked up for broadcast in Europe. It won "Short of the Week's" Best Production 2012 award and was also named by Vimeo Staff Picks in Vimeo's Best 12 films of 2012. In the commercial world, Josh's clients have included PepsiCo, Ford, IBM, Starbucks, and Toyota. He's also a surfer, photographer, hispanophile, wannabe chef, and proud father of a french bulldog named Guadalupe. He currently resides in Venice, California.
