Ranna is a seven-year-old girl who lives in a village located in northern Iran; she owns a special hen, Kakoli, which is a reminder of his grandmother. She loves it affectionately. The hen lays some eggs and she paints a chick on the eggs' shell. She has a 12-year-old brother, Rahman. They sort the eggs in order to have a chick like Kakoli. Meanwhile, Kakoli is being hunted by a jackal. She gets too depressed and becomes passive. Rahman decides to put the eggs under the other hens but he doesn't know that his mother has sold the eggs to a peddler. He intends to find the painted eggs in order to help his sister feel better; he therefore searches through the local markets of the village... (Zlín Film Festival)
