The film was shot as an abstracting film reflection of an installation by the pioneer of Czech kineticism and member of the art avant-garde, Zdeněk Pešánek. Pešánek's light sculpture was commissioned by The Electrical Works of the Capital City of Prague for the recently opened functionalist building of the Edison Transformation Station in Jindřišská street in Prague. The joint film work of two students of Brno University of Technology – Otakar Vávra, student of architecture, and future electrical engineer, František Pilát, meant a successful and quite important start of their careers in film industry.
