2013 has been a breakout year for Moises Arias with diverse roles in the two highly successful films: The Kings of Summer and Despicable Me 2.
The Kings of Summer (formally known as Toy's House), premiered to rave reviews and comparisons to the classic Stand By Me and breakout hit Superbad at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Paste Magazine named Arias one of the "best acting performances at Sundance 2013" for his portrayal of Biaggio, the quirky sidekick. The film went to gross more than $1M domestically. He followed this by lending his voice to the Universal Pictures' sequel of "Despicable Me 2" alongside Miranda Cosgrove and Steve Carrell, which has grossed more than $850M worldwide.
Arias, who made his feature film debut with a supporting role opposite Jack Black in Paramount Picture's Nacho Libre, lent his voice to the animated feature The Secret World of Arrietty. His other film credits include: Universal Home Video's Beethoven:The Reel Story, lead roles Lionsgate's The Perfect Game and the Disney Channel MOW "Dadnapped" opposite fellow "Hannah Montana" cast members Emily Osment and Jason Earles, Hannah Montana: The Movie and the animated feature Astroboy with Nicolas Cage.
Initially joining Disney Channel's hit series "Hannah Montana" in a recurring role, Arias character "Rico" became an instant fan favorite and he was upgraded to a series regular. His other television credits include guest starring roles on "Everybody Hates Chris," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and "Wizards of Waverly Place."
Shortly after he was born in New York, NY, Moises and his family moved to Atlanta, GA. In Atlanta, Arias and his younger brother Mateo began taking classes at a local acting school. The school brought the Arias' to Los Angeles in January 2005 to compete in IMTA's acting and modeling competition. Shortly after they relocated to Los Angeles and Arias booked a national Burger King commercial and made his professional stage debut at the Mark Taper Forum in the world premiere of the Culture Clashes' critically acclaimed production "Water and Power."
