Ice Age (2002)

English The first Ice Age is perhaps the finest family film in the franchise and has a beautifully moving story that, alongside the central quest to find a bunch of people who need to return their stinky cub, offers a perfect introduction to universally wonderful characters and their different life attitudes, while the short runtime fits it like a glove and will not bore either a four-year-old or a caring septuagenarian grandmother. But for this glorious animated film to attack the top rungs of the genre, it would have to apply less downright childish humour (although some of the adult jokes are brilliant - "Modern architecture. It'll never last."), and a little less self-importance and sentimentality, which somewhat clashes with the film's biggest highlight, a crazy squirrel trying to find the best place to stick his acorn. From my point of view, the more daring third one wins, which is much more packed and more interesting story-wise... 85%

The Longest Yard (2005)

English A sports gem from a time when Sandler's comedies were still a guarantee of quality, at least for his fans. The film moves at a tremendous pace from the swirl of the big city and stripped-down parties to the seedy prison wasteland and begins to focus on the most important thing: football – not the wonderful European sport where talent wins over strength, but let's not kid ourselves, to see a crowd of "five-star" black men or former wrestlers, cutting each other's heads off and making outrageous fun of themselves is simply great fun, notwithstanding the stupidity (disgusting cheerleaders, Rob Schneider) and one-sidedness (one player is overweight, so we laugh at him repeatedly) of some of the jokes. Anyway, the rest of the film, including the necessary dramatic overlay and with the generous contribution of Cromwell and Fichtner, works almost perfectly, and in the end we keep our fingers crossed for those rude, violent and mentally retarded individuals from the prisoners so convulsively that we wonder what they did to deserve it... Probably because The Longest Yard is simply a good film. 80%

Forrest Gump (1994)

English What should I write in a review of a film that hasn’t already been said a thousand times? In short, if you walk down the street and ask a hundred random people about the best movie of their lives, the most common answer will be Forrest Gump. A masterpiece in the history of cinema, funny, depressing, impressive, inspiring, with impeccable direction and performances that leave you amazed. I have a bit more distinctive film exhibitions in my top list, but this beauty still has a privileged and unshakable position in my heart...
