Yannis Sakaridis' debut film Wild Duck premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and also competed in the official competition in many festivals. At the age of 19, he moved to London to study photography and art history at the London College of Film, at the University of Westminster. He has worked mainly in London, on 17 award winning feature films and on several documentaries for British TV. After 18 years in London, he wrote and directed his short film Truth, which won an honorary prize at the Greek State Film Awards. Amerika Square is the Greek entry in the Oscar competition of best foreign film.
