Biography
Basma Alsharif was born in Kuwait in 1983, she was raised in France and the US. She received an MFA from the University of Illinois in 2007 and worked between Gaza, Cairo, Amman, Beirut and Sharjah. She directed We Began by Measuring Distance (2009), Home Movies Gaza (2013), Deep Sleep (2014) and O, Persecuted (2014, 29th Mar del Plata Festival).
