A native of Houston, Texas, PHYLICIA RASHAD graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater from Howard University. Ms. Rashad made her directorial debut at the helm of The Seattle Repertory Theatre's production of August Wilson's "Gem of the Ocean."
