Biography
Olivier Bugge Coutté won the Norwegian Film Academy's Canon Prize for his editing of Joachim Trier's Reprise, one of the most internationally acclaimed feature debuts of recent years. His collaboration with the director began on short films together, and continues with the feature Oslo, 31st of August, to be released in 2011.
The Danish-French Mr. Coutté has lived all over the world, and initially studied political science before making cinema his vocation. He then studied film editing at England's National Film and Television School (NFTS), and has worked as one ever since earning his diploma.
He has edited a host of short films, commercials, and documentaries. Among the latter has been Jeppe Rønde's award-winning feature The Swenkas. In addition to Joachim Trier, he has most frequently collaborated with director Christina Rosendahl. Mr. Coutté has also directed and edited his own short film, Drawings.
Among the features that he has edited are Alexis Dos Santos' Unmade Beds and the recent Scandinavian epic Arn the Knight Templar, directed by Peter Flinth.
