Antonio Gambale

Biography

Antonio Gambale is an Australian/Italian composer based in Paris, France. He studied classical piano and organ from a young age, quickly developing a passion for electronic music and music-to-image. He received formal training in film composition at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) while concurrently pursuing a successful career in music for advertising, film and TV and as an electronic music artist, remixer and producer.

In France, along with composing, Antonio works in roles such as music editor, assistant composer, synth programmer, arranger and co-writer. His projects include La Nouvelle Guerre des Boutons (dir Christophe Barratier) and Dans la Maison (dir François Ozon) with composer Philippe Rombi, La Belle et la Bate (dir Christophe Gans) Cartier: Shape Your Time with Pierre Adenot and David Menke, Taken 1, 2 and 3 (dirs Pierre Morel and Olivier Megaton), The Grandmaster (dir Wong Kar Wai) and Taxi Brooklyn (series for TF1 and NBC) with Nathaniel Méchaly and David Menke.

In 2014, Antonio scored the short film Un Seul Corps (dir Sotiris Dounoukos) which was awarded best international short film at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. He also completed the original score for Stung (dir Benni Diez) as co-composer with writing partner David Menke.
