Tom Hooper (1972) is a British TV and film director. He graduated in English from the University of Oxford. He's known for directing TV movies, series and miniseries, for example, Elisabeth I (2005) and John Adams (2008). In cinema he gained fame for his dramas Red Dust (2004) and The Damned United (2009). The historical film The King's Speech (2010) brought him worldwide success and also an Oscar. He also directed the musical Les Misérables (2011).
