Rebecca Louisell

Biography

Rebecca Louisell is a filmmaker with a mission to make media that matters. She writes, directs and occasionally produces fiction and non-fiction film, tv and new media projects dealing with social issues of our times. A Studio Art major in undergrad, she later worked with youth as an outdoor education and political advocacy program director before returning to graduate school to earn her M.F.A. in film production with a focus on directing at the University of Southern California.

While at USC, Rebecca was the recipient of the Troutner Award, the USC Lambda Alumni Association's Don Thompson Scholarship for Cinematic Arts, and the Mary Pickford Scholarship. In 2012, with fellow student producer Ian Ward, she was awarded a College Television Award in the Focus on Diversity and Gender Equality Category presented by the Geena Davis Institute on Gender In Media.
