Çigdem Sezgin (*1972) coming from Istanbul gained a foothold in the movie business quite early. At the age of 19 years, Sezgin was already a production assistant in Ali Özgentürks movie "Çiplak" (1991). While studying cinema and television at the Marmara Üniversitesi in Istanbul, Sezgin gained further experience as a co-producer of TV-series and movies. The short film "Tokadi Hak Etmedim" (1997) was not only her graduation movie but also her directing debut. Since then she has been focused on TV-movies like "Artik Sevmeyecegim" (2000) and TV-series like "Üç Kadin" (2005). "Kasap Havasi" (2015) is now her first cinematic feature.
