Biography
Vladimir Golovnitskiy has run his independent sound recording studio, Gutara, in Vilnius, Lithuania since 1994, and has worked closely with Sergei Loznitsa on the last six of the director's documentaries.
A graduate of the Insitute of Cinema Engineers in Leningrad (now the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television), Brest-born Golovnitski worked at the Belarusfilm Studios in Minsk for 16 years.
Apart from collaborating closely with Loznitsa and Lithuania's Sharunas Bartas, Golovnitskiy also worked on 2010's How I Ended the Summer by Alexey Popogrebsky, which won two awards at the Berlin Film Festival.
