Biography
An American from Egyptian origin, after earning a B.F.A. degree in acting from the prestigious Cornish College of the Arts, she has performed in local theatre for 10 years. After that she received an M.F.A. degree in film production from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema and Television. After producing several short films, in 2004 she wrote and directed the short film Tahara, which has been awarded many prizes and which denounces the survival of female genital mutilation as a tradition in many countries all over the world.
