Biography

Born in Copenhagen in 1970 and raised in New York. His first feature length film was Pusher (1996), which would lead to a trilogy completed by Pusher II (2004) and Pusher III (2005). Movies like Bleeder (1999), Fear X (2003), Bronson (2008) and Valhalla Rising (2009) made him a cult filmmaker with a refined and, at the same time, abstract approach to the most extreme genre cinema. His participation in the official selection at Cannes with Drive (2011) catapulted him to the front line of contemporary filmmakers, winning the award for best director at the French festival.
