Scott Hamilton Kennedy established himself as a director of music videos, commercials and corporate work for clients ranging from Jimmy Cliff to Tony Bennett, CBS to AMC, and Nabisco to Mattel. He was second unit director on the Showtime movies Last Exit to Earth and Sea Wolf, and upon completion of principal photography on those he was awarded four feature films to direct (each shot in six days) as part of a series executive produced by Roger Corman. Kennedy graduated with honors from Skidmore College, where he majored in theater with a concentration in directing. He spent his junior year abroad in London, which included an internship as assistant to the director at London's Theatre Royal. Soon after graduating, Kennedy began directing films by raising money to shoot an AIDS P.S.A. His first music video for Def Jam artist Nikki D, garnered him a Gold Prize at The Houston Film Festival, and was followed by several number-one internationally aired music videos including Jimmy Cliff's remake of "I Can See Clearly Now." Kennedy served as Associate Producer and Second Unit Director on "How To Make The Cruelest Month," which was in Dramatic Competition at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival, as well as The Seattle and Long Island Film Festivals. The cast included Marianne Jean Baptiste (Secrets and Lies), Clea Duvall (The Faculty), Mary Kay Place (The Rainmaker), and Dennis Haysbert (Far from Heaven). Kennedy had several projects in development including an adaptation of OT: our town as a musical, the comedy Summershare, about the first all black summershare in the ultra-posh Hamptons, and Guns Liquor Ammo, a psychological modern-noir thriller.
