Biography

He studied Journalism at the University of Pamplona. He worked for TVE at the Basque Country Regional Center and was part of the first editorial department of El País newspaper, where he was chief of the Politics section and the Sunday supplement. In 1995, he founded Cinemanía magazine, which he directed for eleven years. In 2007, he created TVMÁLAGA, the first Spanish television film festival, and was coordinator of the first Tangiers Spanish Film Festival. In 2008, he was named director of the Valladolid’s International Film Week (SEMINCI). The author of many books, he was writer and co-director of the documentaries The Lost (with Enrique Gabriel, 2009) and Helios’ Suitcase (with Nacho A. Villar, shown at Bafici ‘21).
