Biography

A graduate in Medicine from the University of Saragossa in 1981. Between 1982-1985 she studied film directing at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in México D.F., dependent on the Mexican Institute of Cinematography. In 1991-1993 she made doctoral courses at the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising I at the Faculty of Information Sciences from the Complutense University in Madrid. During the period 1990-1997 she taught directing at the Complutense University in Madrid and she gave a Master on Film script writing organized by Fundación Viridiana and Autonomous University in Madrid. She wrote and directed several documentary films for Canal Plus. She is professor of Film Directing at the ECAM (Escuela de Cine de la Comunidad de Madrid). Within her filmography as a director and co-writer we could mention: Elvira Luz Cruz, pena máxima (1985) Award “Ariel” to the best documentary film, given by the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences; Ander eta Yul (1989) “Goya” to the best new director in 1990; Todo está oscuro (1996); La mafia en La Habana (2000); Algunas chicas doblan las piernas cuando hablan (2001); Galíndez (2002).
