Marcel Gisler (1960, Altstätten, Switzerland) studied Drama and Philosophy at the Freie Universität Berlin. In 1985 his feature debut Tagediebe earned Silver Leopard award for Best First Work. His filmography also includes festival awarded Schlaflose Nächte (1988), Die blaue Stunde (1992) and F. est un salaud (1998). Since 1985 works as producer, screenwriter, director and as lecturer at various film schools in Switzerland and Germany. His latest film Rosie recieved six nominations for Swiss film academy awards.
