Biography

As a video artist and film director, Carlos Osuna has participated in several festivals and shows in Europe, Latin America and the United States. In 2000 he won the best experimental video award and special jury award for video at the Equinox Film Festival. Two years later he won the Círculo Precolombino de Oro to best fiction video at the Bogotá Film Festival. In 2003, thanks to his career and the film Antesala he received the Master in Visual Arts degree with honors at the Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá. In 2004, thanks to his film Loop Análogo he was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talent Campus at the Berlin Film Festival. In 2010, his feature film Gordo, Calvo y Bajito was selected as best project at the international producers’ congress at the Cartagena Film Festival. The Francisco Javier Fund for social projects also gave him grant for his documentary Dar Vida a la Vida. Carlos Osuna presides over the production house Maltacine SAS and teaches at the Universidad Javeriana.
