Born in Greifswald, Germany in 1981, after training as a media designer he worked as a cinematographer, editor and director and produced short films. Since 2008 he has been working for Til Schweiger's production company Barefoot Films on major cinema productions. He is both writer and director of the feature film Großstadtklein. His production Von einem, der auszog, das Fürchten zu lernen was the most successful television fairy tale of 2015. Amelie rennt (Mountain Miracle – An Unexpected Friendship) is his second theatrical feature.
