English Karel Zeman started out as an advertising creator and he never felt ashamed of it. The Horseshoe for Luck was created as a state commission to support the collection of waste materials. Zeman made this propaganda film with his own professionalism. The short black and white film had such an impact that the Zlín studio made 6 more sequels with Mr. Prokouk as the main character. Today, it primarily serves as evidence of the high level of Czech animation in the mid-1940s and as a part of the history of our cinematography. That cheerful building music, true, slightly provokes, but the other elements of the film balance it out. Overall impression: 50%. ()
