Discover the mysteries of abstract art; the pure world of sensation; the construction of fantasy that opens up associative spaces of thought for the viewer. Jürgen Partenheimer, internationally one of the most significant German artists of his generation, challenges viewers with his paintings, drawings and sculptures: What is the appearance of things? He finds new and unusual ways of perceiving the world and reality as if for the first time – and ways of expressing this experience in his painting. Thus he creates ambiguous surfaces of projection. They allow each viewer to reflect on their own way of seeing and start to really see. He explains his mythology of colour, of red, blue, yellow, white, grey, black and their uses. Partenheimer’s art isn’t limited to a canvas. His own house is part of his art. Reduced to the essential, a place that can be experienced by the senses. The camera follows his recommendations, discovers spaces, rhythms, colours and shares the experiences and the thoughts of the artist. (DOK.fest München)
