In a tale-like story a son remembers his father, his family and the "happy" decade following World War II. After the weeks spent in the cellar the optimistic Török, a pharmacist, happily plays Symphony in G-minor with his orchestra. Miraculously he even recovers from diphtheria and gets a small chemical factory unexpectedly. After manufacturing ointments and eau de cologne he decides to realise his dream. He wants to extract hormone medicine for women from horse piss. But nationalization comes and only the ever-fussy Negrelli can save him from bankruptcy with gold of suspicious origins. Török is interned. But he goes on hoping, planning and working with undiminished faith. (official distributor synopsis)
