The orphan Juli escapes from her foster parents, the wealthy peasants in the village, and gets to Dunapentele which stands under construction. Orbán Pista begins to call her Kiskrajcár, when he falls in love with her. Juli finds home at the construction site and the girls' dormitory alike, she will become a diligent and docile worker. When the son of her foster parents turns up in town and as a consequence, disorganisation, lack of materials appear, later the giant crane gets loose, she points out the enemy at once. The new type of man is formed in work and community. Túri party secretary makes the technical intellectuals realise the values of the workers. Juli and Pista get married, they are given a flat and the town a new name. (official distributor synopsis)
