An affair of the heart. Despite its unmistakable naivety, a thrilling series with a charismatic main character, a beautiful princess, a likable servant, two incompetent pursuers, and a perfect villain, wonderfully dubbed in the Czech version by Václav Postránecký. ()
“Fog, I'm the one who made the bet and I know we'll be exactly right on time!" The animation was nothing special, but the atmosphere of Willy Fog’s adventures was totally inimitable. The likeable protagonists were a great asset for this cartoon. Although this was only very loosely based on Jules Verne’s book, it is still one of the most faithful adaptations of his works in existence. Luckily I had already read the book at the time this came to our screens, otherwise the tension would have had me in fits in the last episode. ()
This was quite an enjoyable TV series, which I fondly remember devouring like a hungry dog when I was a mere whippersnapper... :) ()
