Letters From a Distance

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the dynamics of communication, transportation, work, and interaction of societies in Mexico and around the world. For patients hospitalized with the virus, though, any contact with their loved ones was impossible. Patients suspected of having COVID-19 are isolated as soon as they enter the medical units—before they even know if they’re infected—and are faced with uncertain survival and total solitude.
