Identification

In 1945 the Soviet hand over POWs. Everybody accepts the certifying documents, money, Red Cross certification, food, it is only Ambrus András who does not, for he is registered under the name of one of his escaped fellow prisoner, Takács Gábor. Nobody cares about this trifle, however, what is more, the stubbornness of the man raises suspicion. Later his former buddy, the farmer Miska, does not identify him either, for he would be able to keep the land which was originally distributed to András. András is bashed on the head and it is only Csató, the resettlement government commissioner who tries to save him. András attacks him and flees with his revolver thus forcing him to identify him at last. (official distributor synopsis)
