B. József, a forty-year-old skilled worker in a forgery builds a family house, establishes a poultry farm to make ends meet, but his overworked wife dies. The man remains alone. For the unskilled worker girl coming form the country, Éva regards it as a promotion when B.József receives her into his house to help him. Due to their uneasy and transient interdependence their fates are joined, but their values, mentalities and personalities cannot be reconciled, even when Éva expects a child and József takes actions to establish a family. Of all these, only a series of dramatic situations can arise, which inherently involve tragedy. (official distributor synopsis)
