The dark forest beloved of poets is recreated by Lefrant in a materialist and apocalyptic vein suited to our times, and to cinema. The images move between abstract animation and representational landscape views, but a murky gloom suffuses the increasingly chaotic superimpositions. Can we any longer recognise anything that we see or hear? The natural world is lost before us. (International Film Festival Rotterdam)
