The movie is a kinetic portrait of the dark life of children who have nothing, Mexico City ‘s street kids. Tort’s directorial debut employed real street children who bring a gritty authenticity to this highly cinematic adaptation of Jesus Gonzales Davila’s play. Orphaned 15 year old Rufino survives doing odd jobs – hauling slabs of meat and drugs across the city.
