young journalist, Joven (Arron Villaflor), interviews General Antonio Luna (John Arcilla) as he prepares for battle. Little does he know that certain elements in the army are loyal only to President Emilio Aguinaldo (Mon Confiado) and question General Luna’s authority. The newly formed cabinet is also divided: the elite members, men like Felipe Buencamino (Nonie Buencamino) and Pedro Paterno (Leo Martinez), are pro-American, while others, like Apolinario Mabini (Epy Quizon) and General Luna himself, take a militant stand. As politics divide them, the American troops take Manila. (Abramorama Films)

English This Filipino historical film certainly has its flaws and at times looks very amateurish, but at the same time, some moments showcase the power of cinematic storytelling and how it's possible to highlight history and politics, as well as human attitudes like loyalty or betrayal. The acting is surprisingly very good, but the most surprising are the gore scenes. ()
