A light comedy of four love-stories. History always interfered with Mária's pursuit of happiness. Her first husband, Halász, who teaches at a children's home, emphasises his arguments in a debate with two slaps across her face. But since this is not enough to start the divorce proceedings, Mária asks her ex-director, Horváth to testify to her adultery. A few years later the party calls her to account for her divorce. But instead of excluding her, Comrade Bor, who leads the investigation, marries her. But soon he is imprisoned and then dies in an air-crash. Now, Zalán, the journalist consoles Mária. He turns out to be a careerist, and in order to divorce him, this time Mária commits real adultery with Horváth. (official distributor synopsis)
