English The most important mainstream gay-themed series after Queer as Folk tells the story of the lesbian community in West Hollywood. After the airing of the final series, there were more webisodes that revealed secrets that no one wished to reveal... Only the one-time recap was good. The spinoff eventually morphed into The Real L Word, which is quite decent. When I first started watching the series, it had a wholesome effect on me, but nowadays I just remember the chills and anticipation of the upcoming plots and twists. The first season was really like a bolt from the blue. I loved Lara Perkins (among other things because I actually only gave The L Worda try because of her character Lauren Lee Smith from Mutant X). However, my smile froze on my face during the second season. By the third season, I was suffering quite a bit, but I was already part of the fandom by that point. The fourth season was perfect, the fifth was a given and the sixth was the farewell... Over the years, some of the women have changed, while others have stayed. I gradually fell in love with Helena Peabody and her actress Rachel Shelley, mostly due to the lack of Lara. I also naturally fell under the spell of Jennifer Flashdance Beals, who played the dominating Bette Porter. I rediscovered her sister Kit (Pam Grier), and Karina Lombard as Marina Ferrer has become the show's elusive icon, even in my perception of contemporary television. I loved Mia Kirshner's (Jenny Schecter) acting and I also had a lot of fun during the filming of Lez Girls. ()
