Ratnam, Rahman, Aishwarya, and Tabu are a great combination. But even after seeing virtually all of Aishwarya's filmography - and it's clear to me that she has done a lot of interesting things outside of Bollywood - The Duo in particular remains a completely inaccessible film for me. Much of it takes place during the filming and building of a stellar career... Yet the moment it breaks into politics, I am absolutely defenseless. Then I have no choice but to enjoy the very colorful music videos, which are full of modern and classic Western dance. The Taj Mahal shines through only now and then. ()
