Ôgon no inu

Even the usual dose of nostalgia doesn't work here, because even in the 1980s, the series (and I was much younger and less experienced then) seemed like a calculated move and a deliberate emotional manipulation with a suffering, (of course) brave dog. When I recall that poignant music underscoring the drawn-out dialogues, I get chills. Overall impression 40%. (02/14/2008)
