It’s the summer of 1963 and Baby is stuck at the Catskills with her parents. Attempting to make the best of the situation, Baby attends the organized classes on merengue dancing and wig demonstration. Suddenly, all of that changes when she meets Johnny Castle, the resort's dance instructor. With Johnny, Baby learns the steps to a new dance--a dirty dance--that allows her to discover new strengths and new talents in order to define her place in a rapidly changing world. English "Nobody puts Baby in a corner." We still have at home, though perhaps long since defunct, the original VHS of Dirty Dancing, which I will never get tired of even on repeated viewings. When I was a kid, I didn't pay any attention to the details that revolved mainly around the characters of Penny and the Schumachers, I focused mainly on the "dirty dancing" and the many (often perhaps unintentionally) humorous moments, which, however, still manage to amuse me. It is true that some scenes come across as too cheesy, and that some of the dialogue sounds downright silly, but that's just part of this classic dance romantic film. Moreover, as I wrote above, the film also deals with gripping social issues. PS: "I carried a watermelon." ()

English A romantic, sweet summer flick which has a charm of its own. And amazingly, it is possible to sit through it (not enjoy it) even without your better half by your side. Swayze set the bar high for Czech men for a long time, and for some girls this continues to this day. In addition, I have a gleeful desire to throw in one star for the horrible, but truly iconic, Czech dubbing. ()

English This is simply a matter of the heart. It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this movie, it always manages to captivate me with its music, its dance, and ultimately with its romantic story, which actually isn't as happy as it may seem. It still manages to amaze me with its acting, even though it can be quite naive at times. But I simply love dancing, and that will be one of the reasons why. ()

English In the latter half of the 1980s, it was a big hit, practically a cult phenomenon that's hard to understand in hindsight because both in terms of writing and acting performances, it's just an average piece of work. Even today, I feel like nostalgia plays a significant role in its appraisal. Patrick Swayze was a rugged heartthrob, and the young Jennifer Grey was fragile and naive, so the film found its place in the market and people enjoyed it. But it's true that I still enjoy listening to the song that accompanied the film. It's a romantic story where music and, above all, dance play a significant role. Overall impression: 50%. ()

English Say what you want about this sweet little film, but the fact remains that you won't find a catchier and better cast musical, at least not in the eighties, that the title track is great, and that just for reviving such hits as the Ronettes' “Be My Baby” or Salomon Burke's “Cry To Me”, Dirty Dancing simply deserves its place in the limelight. Where is that music today. ()
