Plots(1)

The university student couple, Andris and Mari, cross Nemesbérc during their summer vacation, to hasten the laying of a memorial stone to the memory of András's martyr father. Galkó, the retired school-teacher of the small town, tells them already in the car that Gajzágó found shelter from the Fascists in 1944 in their town, organised resistance, and that was when he shot the station master to death. He directs the young people to the Zorkóczy-house, and their presence evokes painful memories in the three sisters. Two of them, Rózsika and the childish Amálka, were in love with Gajzágó, and Amálka was even pregnant with his child. The hard-handed Franciska "arranged" the question of the baby and the dangerous partisan. The two young people are trying to leave this suffocating environment as soon as possible. Having learnt about the past, they look forward to the future cooler, more mature. (official distributor synopsis)
