Lying in a hospital bed, teetering on the brink of death, former gangster Dixie Logan (Douglas Blackley) has a story to tell. Criminal or not, he was framed by corrupt District Attorney Lawrence Dale (Edmund MacDonald). Not wanting to take the rap for a crime he didn't commit, Dixie and his wife Marian (Luana Walters) devise a plan to gather proof of Dale's underhandedness. Marian secures a job as Dale's assistant, and with the help of surprising ally and investigative reporter George Mitchell (Russell Wade), the race is on to expose Dale for the villain he is and to secure freedom for Logan.
