Bergner is a thoroughly likable flirt and sleep-arounder who, before she can save herself, becomes an unwed mother facing the lethal facts of life. She is taken in by a bounder of a composer who marries her, though actually he is in love with his brother's fiancee, Dudley-Ward. The stage play was a roaring success, the film much less so, although Bergner's transition from pretty vamp to helpless mother is an acting treasure. (official distributor synopsis)
