After developing a crippling fear of blood, hotshot London surgeon Martin Ellingham (Martin Clunes) is forced to retrain as a GP and relocate to the charming seaside village of Portwenn. Dour, discourteous, and dismissive, he immediately clashes with Portwenn's quirky villagers. Doc Martin catches the eye of the most beautiful woman in Portwenn (Caroline Catz), tests the patience of his long-suffering aunt (Stephanie Cole), and repeatedly hurts feelings as he heals bodies. Nobody Likes Me (2013) (S06E04)

English Incredible but true: Penhale appeared in episode four, and I didn't feel the need to physically harm him at all. Strange. Martin was entertaining as always, both in and out of the surgery, and it seems Portwenn just can't catch a break with pharmacists. I’d love to see an episode where Morwenna gets more screen time. ()

The Practice Around the Corner (2013) (S06E05)

English Unlike previous episodes, this one didn't hit the mark. Penhale's wilderness adventure was pretty pointless, and the other storylines didn't excite me either. Episode five just felt a bit tired overall. ()

Hazardous Exposure (2013) (S06E06)

English I enjoyed this episode more than the last one, although Martin’s mother showing up was a bit of a downer. It's getting old how the creators keep bringing in new relatives to keep things moving. That said, Martin was in top form, even the village idiot Penhale made me laugh, and Morwenna was her usual perfect self. ()

Listen with Mother (2013) (S06E07)

English I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this episode. Even with Penhale's frequent appearances, I didn't feel the urge to strangle him. The medal ceremony at the schoolyard was fantastic, and the speech was even better. Mrs. Tishell was a highlight for me this time, but I missed Aunt Ruth and was disappointed by the presence of Martin's annoyingly irritating mother. ()

Departure (2013) (S06E08)

English I enjoyed this episode just as much as the previous one, but for different reasons. The atmosphere of the finale was much more serious and intense, which was a nice change. However, the creators' attempt to create suspense fell flat because any regular viewer could predict the outcome of the "tense" situation. I appreciated the departure of that annoying character and couldn't care less about the clock! ()
