Plots(1)

This silent film provides a poetic documentation of an autopsy performed on the human body. It is perhaps the first movie that confronts us with the unvarnished truth of death, the last secret, making us aware of our own physicality. The film's title is derived from the Greek word "autopsía", which is composed of the words for "self " and "viewing" or the "act of seeing". (Viennale)
