In this madcap comedy of hilarious circumstances, Lum Edwards (Chester Lauck) and Abner Peabody (Norris Goff), owners of the Jot-Em-Down general store in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, are on their way to Chicago to claim Abner's inheritance. But instead of coming into any money, Abner learns he is responsible for the deceased's debts. Required to take a physical exam, the doctor mistakenly tells Abner he has only two weeks to live. Before Abner bites the big one, the two bumbling heroes accidentally get involved with an organization of Nazi agents, among other silly stunts, in an attempt to pay what is owed on the inheritance.
