The Flat Jungle

I match these grand African journeys (Unsere Afrikareise & Moi un Noir) with flat jungle, a very Dutch film, made while wallowing, relishing the water and wind and high skies. It concerns the Shallows, an area between land and sea, a jungle of a few meters thick. The film has a long-term construction, aimed at joining the minuscule to the gigantic: plaice larvae with nuclear plants. In between, the image originates of our distorted relationship with Mother Nature and how we wade through it. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
