English The Lost World is of a very high technical standard in terms of visual effects, models and make-up, even though it is a TV movie. When I first saw it, I remember being quite horrified by the opolids. What brings the film to its knees, however, is the somewhat stiff, forced, almost theatrical acting of some of the actors - particularly Elaine Cassidy and Matthew Rhys. On the other hand, I quite enjoyed the banter between the two professors, played by Bob Hoskins and James Fox. Last but not least, I must commend Peter Falk's minor role. Compared to other two-part TV movies, this one is shorter, but that's not a bad thing at all, as it doesn't have so many deaf spots. Despite the average rating, I think I will certainly revisit the film again at some point in the future. ()
