Barta András engineer calls at uncle Frédi, on whom the fate of his invention depends, in pouring rain, but the old man is abroad. The servants feel pity for the soaking visitor waiting in the bathroom for his clothes to dry. Uncle Frédi arrives in the meantime, and tells Éva, his daughter, that he promised her hand to a friend's son abroad. In order to avoid having to marry against her will, Éva tells her father that she got married while he was away. The young man in the bathroom comes in handy, who, hoping for better chances to hand over his plans this way, undertakes the role of the husband. He is not disappointed, his invention is acknowledged, and he even becomes Éva's real husband. (official distributor synopsis)
