Based on a script written by the famous writer Yurii Olesha, this film was one of the first examples of socialist realism on screen. Its makers wanted to create a vivid and attractive image of a young person of the new socialist epoch. This film stood out against the background of the Soviet cinematograph of that time due to its treatment of problems of the intellectuals and attempt to recreate the unique human personality in its dramatic actions and moral aspirations. The story evolvs around a love triangle: a young Komsomol athlete falls in love with the wife of a famous professor and scientist. (Odessa International Film Festival)
