Criminal defense lawyer Martin Strang (Stone) becomes unhinged after he is forced to defend an insane killer who had murdered again after Martin had earlier defended him, and discovering his wife Lucille is having an affair with psychiatrist Dr. James Anderson. Martin changes his will to cut out his wife and leave his entire fortune to benefit the victims of the guilty criminals he aided. Martin also blackmails murderer William Jackson (Guilfoyle) by guaranteeing a not-guilty verdict if he will kill Lucille and her lover. The plan backfires when Jackson decides to murder Martin and escape. (official distributor synopsis)
